Vehicle
graphics.

From a name and number on the door to a full printed wrap. We handle cars, vans, boats, trailers and plant — design, print, and fitting in our temperature-controlled bay.

Your van is doing advertising every time it's parked outside a job or sat in traffic on the A591 — it's worth getting right. We do everything from simple cut-vinyl lettering (name, number, logo, done) through to full printed wraps that change the vehicle's colour entirely. In between there's part-wraps, reflective Chapter 8 markings for commercial vehicles, and colour-change vinyl for anyone who wants their fleet looking sharp without a respray.

Everything's designed, printed and fitted here in Kendal, in a bay set up specifically for wrapping — clean, temperature-controlled, and out of the weather, which matters more than people think when you're stretching vinyl round a wheel arch. We work on cars, vans, HGVs, boats, trailers and plant machinery, and we've wrapped everything from ice cream vans to ambulances. If it's got a panel, we can put graphics on it.

Sun Signs designs, prints and fits vehicle graphics from our workshop in Kendal, serving Windermere, Ambleside, Penrith, Barrow and the whole of Cumbria. Call 01539 724433 or email signs@sunsigns.co.uk for a quote.

Questions

What people ask us.

How long does a van wrap take?

A single van, full wrap, is usually 2 to 3 days in the bay once the design is signed off and the vinyl's printed — allow a week or so from artwork approval to collection. Simple cut-vinyl lettering on a door or two can often be done same day. Fleets are scheduled in batches so you're never without every vehicle at once.

Is design included, or do I need my own artwork?

Either works. If you've got brand guidelines or existing artwork we'll template it straight onto your vehicle's exact panel shapes. If you're starting from scratch — a new business, a rebrand, or just "make it look good" — we'll design it with you as part of the job, no separate design invoice.

How long does a wrap last, and how do I look after it?

A quality cast vinyl wrap, fitted properly, lasts 5 to 7 years outdoors — longer on a vehicle that's garaged. Hand wash where you can; run it through an automatic car wash with soft brushes rather than hard ones, and avoid pressure washers held close to panel edges. We use durable, UK-weather-rated vinyl for exactly this reason — it's built for driving around Cumbria in the rain, not a showroom.
